My name is Johnny Berhanemeskel from Canada with origin from Eritrea. I'm currently my 9th here playing professionally overseas I went to university in Canada and play basketball the University of Ottawa. I've been in France for multiple years and I'm very grateful to be playing this game and all the experiences are giving me to travel the world and to play against the lots of great players overseas.
Can you introduce yourself shorlty

What do you think about the new generation of Canadian player in the NBA ?
I think Canada basketball is on the rise, 100%. And I think everyone in the world knows it especially the way they even performed at the World Cup, you know the rising stars are showing that there's some of the best players in the world when you see a guy like Shai (Shai Gilgeous-Alexander) who is in the top of MVP voting and playing and leading his team. So I think you know Canada’s has a lot, a lot of good things going its way and I definitely think they will definitely continue to compete. I believe that they have the second best players in the NBA outside of the United States of America, so you know there continues to do something well and it's definitely going to be exciting to continue to watch how everything plays out.

As a Canadian, are you really excited for your country for the Paris’ Olympics Games after a great World Cup ?
I believe after the World Cup and especially how many guys from NBA committing to play for the Olympic team and the World Cup team, it just it's going to be very exciting, especially at Paris. The fact that they qualified, the fact that these guys want to go and play against some of the best players in the world and show that they deserve to be on that stage and I think everyone in the world is starting to see that Canada’s one of the best teams in the world. They're going to do their best to show that the Paris 2024 Olympics which is going to be very fun and great experience for them, I'm sure.

What is the most impressive think about Victor Wembanyama as basketball player ?
You know Wemby is obviously one of the most exciting and interesting players in the world that the game has ever seen. And you know, he's very humble guy that just wants to put his work in, and I think one of my favorite things when playing with him was just seeing how fearless he is and how hard he works. I think it's the reason why he's been able to transition well into the NBA, and I think he's going to continue to get better. It's going to be very exciting and very tough for the opponents on the other side of the floor when they have to match up against him for sure.

What do you think about the French prospect who play in Pro A and could present themselves for the next draft class ?
You know, you have to give the credit to what France is doing. They're obviously doing something right with all the prospects and all the hype and everything that they're doing well with the younger kids and the prospects to get these guys on draft boards and show that they can play in the best leagues in the world, it's very exciting. You have to appreciate you know being in these leagues and playing against these guys at their youngest form because you know we're going to see these guys in the NBA plays some of the highest levels, and I feel honored and it's cool to say that I have played against some of these guys. I know for sure that they have a lot of bright future ahead of them, their athleticism is obviously some of the best and it's only going to continue to get better so I do believe that have a very bright future you see a guy like Zach (Zaccharie Risacher) having a great year, getting better as every month is going on, if the season being an All Star this year in the French league getting the recognition you deserve.

Tells about your experience after winning the 3pts point contest this year ?
You know, getting the recognition to be a part of the All Star game was a very big blessing. I was truly honored and it was a great experience, I think the LNB and the French league does such a great job with this event and probably after the NBA would be the best All Star event in the world. So, I think they do a great job the show, you know getting some of the best players there to be a part of it for the first time was truly honor that was a big honor and I was grateful to be out there to represent Gravelines and I was fortunate that night too to win the event which is really cool for the three-point shooting contests. And so, those a lot of fun definitely something I remember for the rest of my life and, you know, just to be able to represent my city and the team, it is a good feeling. Being out on the floor now looking forward to the second-half of the season and competing with my team as we have a lot of games heading our way.
